"I started gaining weight over the last 6 years and having reached my heaviest, I realized I had to do something about it. Not only was I completely unfit and overweight, but it came to a point that my weight was taking a toll on my health. I always found reasons, and there were plenty, for not taking the initiative to change my lifestyle. Being in the third year of university did not help either as the work pressure was immense and although I wanted to change things around, I wasn't sure if I would be able to pull through. 

 

I finally decided to join a gym and started training with James. To say he is a brilliant personal trainer would be an understatement. He has completely changed my perspective on health and fitness and made me realize the importance of nutrition and how big of an effect it has on our body. All his sessions are tailored specifically to me and he monitors my progress regularly. When I started training, I was terrified of strength training and now I actually look forward to training twice a week with him. It has been an amazing journey and I would never have been able to achieve anywhere near my goals if I did not have James' support. He has been an absolute delight to work with and has been ever so motivational. I have now trained with him for over 6 months and lost over 35 kg. I cannot recommend him enough!"

My body has transformed shape


"My main focus was to get in shape for my wedding and I wanted to tone up and also to strengthen my core to support my back, which I have had trouble with for years. Although I didn't have much weight to lose, I had fat to lose and muscle to build. I also had a significant birthday where it was really important to me to look and feel good (to get me over the shock of getting older) and also not to put on weight for my wedding. I can only manage to get to see James once a week, but my body has transformed shape and for the first time in my life, I have a waist and muscle definition! I have lost a weight, and have gained muscle and feel fitter, more toned and more confident about myself. The dress I have chosen for my wedding is one I would never have contemplated a year ago. I have had so many comments from all sorts of people about how I have changed and what great shape I am in, especially from my partner who is amazed! I now rarely see my chiropractor who has also commented on this. What started out as a trial to get some exercises to tone up, has turned into a life-style for me. I work out more, eat differently and feel great. I will not be stopping after the wedding. It will be on to the next challenge"

I've lost weight, I'm stronger


"I've been impressed with his knowledge, how to take a fairly boring gym routine I was doing into something which has helped me with my objectives such as increased flexibility and strength and still being able to do the things I want to do at 51 such as play football, cycle, tennis and be more active, being at a desk based job, you don't get to be active enough, and we have certainly achieved that. I've lost weight, I'm stronger, and pain free.

We also focused a lot on my posture and diet which actually helped me with injuries as I used to get really bad calves all the time which limited me and I haven't had another calve injury in 18 months. I've completed some big events because I've been fit enough to do them such as a couple of 90 miles cycles like Bristol to Devon in a day, Bristol to Bordeaux  over a few days and you know, I can average a couple of 100 miles a week with no back pain which is something I've always had issues with."

"My body image was the real reason - I’d always enjoyed the gym and counted it as "me" time but my progress was slow and it became boring. James taught me how to train smart; training has probably halved and my progression has doubled, even without the gym! I’m no longer scared of eating, definitely increased my calories about 150%!! (Which I thought was a myth on social media). James helped me enjoy my training again, giving me challenging yet achievable goals with clear focus. Since working with James I have noticed not only physical changes but also my mental health has drastically improved and I no longer train for my image and what people think but do it for me, to feel confident and strong. I am now pain free


"I can't thank James enough for this work he has done to help me, I had pain in my lower back and hip area for the passed 4 years and i have tried everything from chiropractors to having a x ray and a MRI scan and tests on my back / hip to see what was causing this pain. the NHS could not pin point it so i went private to see a consultant to see if they could help. both failed as they said it was from wear and tear at 29? His work was all from using body movements helping me re adjust my posture and hip alignments. I am now pain free and am able to play football again and after be able to walk with out pain also."

I can run (and sleep) without pain


"I’m the type of person who is always searching for something to improve my running! The pain in my back and hip was getting me down and had started to regularly wake me at night. I have tried Physio, acupuncture, shakti mats, Pilates and a chiropractor. All helped in their own ways but nothing fixed it! I was starting to think that the only thing to improve it was to give up running! An unbearable thought! I came across “Anatomy in Motion” and started researching it before finding and getting in contact with James who quickly responded. Since we started working together, my mobility has massively improved and I can run (and sleep) without pain. I have achieved two ultra’s using mobility exercises and techniques advised by James. I am constantly amazed by the impact of the techniques James uses…at times it seems like magic! I am so glad I discovered this approach and fully value James’s support.
